The Expo

The world's largest E&P (upstream) expo, NAPE Expo provides a marketplace for the buying, selling and trading of oil and gas prospects and producing properties via exhibit booths.  NAPE is the premier E&P networking venue - where one can see what's going on throughout the entire oil patch in two days.

NAPE Expo brings prospects and producing properties (from the U.S. and around the world), capital formation, services and technologies all together in one location, creating an environment to establish strategic alliances for doing business and initiating purchases and trades. NAPE Expos are held twice a year in Houston.

The Conference

On the day before the Exhibits open, the NAPE Conference brings oil and gas executives and experts together to speak on topics of interest - from E&P trends to legislative and regulatory challenges to technical advances.

NAPE Industry Luncheon

NAPE and its participants have been generously giving to NAPE Charities since 2007 and have now given $1,650,000.  NAPE Expo LP pays all luncheon expenses so 100% of ticket sales and sponsorship monies goes directly to NAPE Charities. Recent speakers at this luncheon have included singer Larry Gatlin, NASCAR star Kevin Harvick, painter Dan Dunn, Texas Governer Rick Perry and singer LeAnn Rimes.

History

NAPE Expo  was created as the North American Prospect Expo in 1993 by AAPL.  The first event had 80 booths and 800 attendees in the Westin Galleria hotel ballroom. In 1995 IPAA was added as a partner and in 2004 SEG and AAPG were added as partners.  In 2005 the first Summer NAPE was held.

Since the first expo in 1993, the Winter NAPE Expo (held in February) has grown to host 1600 booths and 16,000 attendees.  Winter NAPE uses the entire George R. Brown Convention Center, to which it moved in 1998.

The first Summer NAPE (held in August) hosted 400 booths and 4000 attendees and Summer NAPE now hosts about 600 booths and 6000 attendees and is also held at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Testimonials

"Every NAPE I have been to, I have sold at least one idea. Where else could I have a dozen face-to-face meetings in two days? Nowhere but NAPE."

Pat Fairchild, Fairchild Petroleum Interests

"It is the one industry event that everyone, no matter what the discipline, tries to attend."

George W. Roth, Range Resources

"NAPE is a critical marketing and networking event in the careers of thousands of America’s petroleum explorationists every year. There are so many NAPE success stories connecting deal buyers and sellers; it's hard to remember how much more difficult it was for explorationists to make those connections before NAPE existed."

Clint Moore, Geoscientist

"NAPE is the king networking place in the whole industry, and it has been for a long time."

Steve Wentworth, EOG Resources

"We are here just so we can look at deals. We’re trying to find the next place we can grow into."

Scott Herstein, Quicksilver Resources
